Inheritance tax planning
04 May 2017
After the local elections on 4 May, we can expect the political campaigning for the general election to move up a gear.
In that run up, the Labour party has indicated that it will lower the inheritance tax threshold from £850,000 to £425,000. Whether or not the next government changes the threshold, up or down, the potential impact should be a consideration for every taxpayer’s inheritance tax planning. With that planning, the opportunities to minimise inheritance tax can be significant.
